In einem 10-tägigen Workshop kann sich jeder sein eigenes Balsaboard shapen!
Die Blanks werden von uns im Vorhinnein entsprechend hergestellt und mit zum Camp gebracht. Von nun an liegt alles in Deiner Hand! Jeder Teilnehmer shapet sein Brett mit Hobel und Schleifpapier selber. Praktisches Know-How, Shape-Hilfen sowie Tipps und Tricks gibt's von der yellowfoot Crew natuerlich direkt waehrend dem Shapen. Die Bretter werden von Euch waehrend des Workshops fertig geshapet, signiert und mit Epoxidharz grundiert. Das eigentliche Glassing ist mit viel Wartezeit verbunden und bedarf spezieller Vorrausetzungen (Temperatur, Luftfeuchtigkeit, Staubfreiheit...). Daher wird das Glassing und evtl. auch der Finnen-Einbau schliesslich von uns in der yellowfoot-Werkstatt durchgefuehrt.

Das Shape Camp wird in "Les Aulnettes", Longeville sur Mer, Vendee stattfinden. Die rustikalen Holzhäuser mitten in der Natur bieten ein perfektes Ambiente, und auch zum Shapen finden wir dort optimale Bedingungen vor: wenn das Wetter es gestattet wird im Freien unter den Bäumen gearbeitet, ansonsten werden wir in die Scheune ausweichen.

Von dem Camp aus sind es je nach Spot ca. 10 Minuten Autofahrt bis zum Surf. Von Point Breaks bis hin zu Beach Breaks, Vendee lockt mit verhältnismässig leeren Line Ups. Durch das kleine Cap werden wir in der Lage sein, bei verschiedenen Swell und Wind Richtungen den optimalen Spot zu finden. Spot Guiding sowie Surf Kurse können dazu gebucht werden.

The Workshop:
Whithin a ten days workshop you will design and shape your own balsa surfboard:
Since the blank construction is a timely process they will be built before and provided by us depending on shape and size of your surfboard. From then on it’s up to you to shape your balsa surfboard! You will shape your board (mainly with a planer and sanding paper) supported by theoretical sessions and practical Know How from the yellowfoot crew. Once the board is ready to be glassed, you will personally name and sign your board before putting the base coat epoxy resin. Glassing a surfboard requires special conditions (temperature, humidity, dust free area) and plenty of waiting time. Therefore the boards will be glassed and finished by us at the yellowfoot work station in Freiburg. During the work shop, however, you will have the possibility to surf different balsa test boards.

The shape camp will take place in "Les Aulnettes", Longeville sur Mer, Vendee. Comfortable wooden cabins offer the perfect ambiance and space for creativity to shape a wooden surfboard. We’ll work outside or in the barn, depending on work steps and weather.

Within a ten minute car ride, we’ll reach different surf spots around the area. There are plenty of good point and beach breaks waiting. Thanks to the little cape, good conditions can be found on different swell and wind directions.
